Playing By The Rules

I should have known I was about to have rough day at the casino when the dealer made mistake number one: skipped out of order, and thus misdealt/hand should be dead, new cards dealt...but no! They pay first player who has a $500 bj, but never should have gotten those cards. Of course I protest to no avail. We get option of removing hands, which I do, and so do others BUT the player was paid incorrectly with the bj! Two hands later, dealer makes not one, but two mistakes (skipping sequence and not giving himself a card)...misdeal should be dead hand again. Player 4 has $400 bj so they go to pay him again!!! I protest even louder and longer, gaining some dirty looks from dealer and tourney folks but who cares. Its getting ridiculous. Players are getting paid serious dollars they shouldn't be and we're near final hands soon so every $$$ is important. Once again, final decision is to pay BJ and let others remove hands, which all do, and then let us replay hand. However, the BJs getting paid is making me angry and violates their own rules! Would they do that on a regular table? Noway! And rule 34 stated if any question, consult regular table rules at NYNY for solution. I was on tables at NYNY with that exact scenario and they REFUSED to pay players and I pointed that out. To no avail.
Play moves to final 5 hands. Player 2 bets all his dough on hand 31 or 32 and busts out, GONE. My aggressive play has me in first, then second, spot. Hand 33 leaves us all same. With hand 34 results, I do the count (as do others) and believe myself to be in 2nd place. The two players paid incorrectly are the others left with me!
Final hand I actually end up with final decision. Player 4 bets first, EVERYTHING. I can't believe it since he cant split/double or anything. Player 1 bets second, EVERYTHING. I'm stunned. I have myself down to player 1 & up on player 4. I ponder my bet and put out middle bet of $500 since my math shows me if we all win hands, I should end up in second place. I picked $500 to stay ahead of player 4 if we all won hands straight. Dealer breaks off a 3, which I was hoping he'd actually beat us all on since I had over $2000 in chips left and would've advanced if others bust out. Somehow, when count is done, I'm in third place $300 behind player 4 and not able to advance???
My friend watching the table who is very good at bj said he didnt see how that player passed me based on counts given on hand 34, but said I should've bet $1000 since then it wouldn't have mattered. My host watching table said I needed to bet $800 to fend off player 4 and she was shocked that I only bet $500. Me? To this moment, I swear the numbers dont make sense since I know how carefully I considered that bet having last play and seeing others had bet all stated dollars. two things could've happened. I could've heard them wrong or player 4 could've had chips stacked wrong. Normally I'd discount both, but we had pointed out to him and player 2 that they had to stack chips in separate piles so all could see. Then again, considering the incorrect bj payout HELPED player 4 pass me, who knows what happened. If he had never gotten that, result would've been different!
BUT, considering what a negative NYNY experience I had before the tourney began, maybe I made the mistake. Maybe the vibes I had blocked my normal good judgement. Could be. All I know is I was already angry at NYNY from the earlier problem, and the payouts of the bjs, and knew I hadn't been able to change my flights to play in round 2 even IF i advanced to sunday's rounds. I didn't deliberately tank my final hand (if i wanted to, i would've only bet $25) but somehow got beat in a situation I usually die for! Where's Rod Serling hiding?
I left saturday night so I didnt see final round play. My friend saw it Sunday, and saw several disputes arise that he said were resolved badly and seemed to only favor one player on the hand when in reality ALL HANDS should be redone. NYNY needs to really recheck their tournament procedures on misdeals, because that was the worst experience I have had in ANY tournament at any property, EVER! I'd still play in another there, because I do love them and have had past great times at NYNY, but this was a trip to try the patience at NYNY.
For info, players advancing from round 3 were only 1 per table to final round. Then a drawing was held to add in a 7th player for the final table. That drawing was a plus for the tourney. As was the drawings for $1000 promotional chips to be used in the poker rooms. Believe it or not, when I asked prize distribution amount for final table before my round, they said it hadn't been determined yet? Mark said they posted it later Saturday, but by then I didn't care. Sorry I don't know the prize $ breakdowns. There was another party Saturday at pool area, but I only attended to see if I'd win drawing for chips, and then left.
Think you can tell how I felt about NYNY at that point> I went over to Mandalay Bay and then back to room for jacuzzi before flying out. I heard a woman won the whole thing who has played in their tourneys before, so congrats to her.
Overall I didn't feel this was as well run as those hosted by MGM,Tropicana,Stardust,Treasure Island, Harrahs, and others I've played in. Stick to the rules please! Hope NYNY works out the glitches before the next one (then again I'm sure the winners were happy enough) I'm just hoping I never have this weird a NYNY experience again. sports betting
